OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
1.Apply evidence-based approaches to the evaluation and management of patients with epilepsy, including time-sensitive management of status epilepticus in accordance with American Clinical Neurophysiology Society (ACNS) guidelines.
2.Recognize common and atypical EEG patterns seen in epilepsy and seizure disorders.
3.Correlate EEG findings with clinical presentation and neuroimaging in epilepsy cases.
4.Differentiate epileptic seizures from nonepileptic events and common EEG artifacts.
