This oncology case study is designed to review existing cases and apply the most current evidence-based knowledge and guidelines to establish treatment plans for improved patient outcomes. Not uncommonly, physicians must manage patients with multiple Hem/Onc issues The care for the complex patient is challenging and is often fraught with medical pitfalls and uncertainties. Compounding the problem is the limited amount of data available. This CME will fulfill gaps in current knowledge by reviewing such complex cases, encouraging Interactive and interdisciplinary discussion to help care for such patients. The CME activity will review updates and recommendations on taking care of these patients if any are available. The CME will enable busy practitioners to keep up with constantly evolving field of Hem/Onc medicine and help explore best practices available to help care for their complex patients.
OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to: (1) Discuss complicated cases where approach to diagnosis and/or treatment is not clear cut, (2) Discuss and review appropriate AJCC staging of each cases presented as well as prognostic indicators as they apply, (3) Review different diagnostic and/or treatment modalities using evidence-based national treatment guidelines, (4) Describe and review common cases to highlight advances that have been made in treatment using state of the art therapy.
