OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:  (1) Describe the physiologic and hormonal drivers of obesity and their relevance to patient care. (2) Identify practical, evidence-based treatment options—including behavioral, pharmacologic, and referral strategies—that can be implemented in primary care. (3) Apply a simplified, stepwise approach to initiating and managing obesity care during routine family medicine visits.
