20260626 BSWQA Orthopedic Lunch & Learn Series: Hip Fracture

June 26, 2026

Orthopedic and musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions represent a major and growing burden on healthcare systems. In the United States, MSK disorders affect more than one-third of adults and are a leading driver of healthcare utilization, disability, and workplace absenteeism.  The impact is substantial across multiple conditions.

Given the high-prevalence and cost burden of orthopedic and MSK conditions, primary care providers must be equipped with evidence-based strategies to effectively evaluate and manage common orthopedic and MSK complaints.

Target Audience

Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers.

  • Select appropriate initial workup and first-line management strategies for low back pain, ankle/foot conditions, and hip pain prior to specialty referral.
  • Recognize common “referral pitfalls” and identify how to improve referral quality and completeness.
