Overview

Lunch & Learn will enhance providers competency in evidence-based pain management by equipping them with practical skills for assessing, diagnosing, and managing both acute and chronic pain conditions.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

  • Explore clinical situations where opioid utilization may be appropriate to consider. 
  • Provide a high-level review of opioid pharmacology with an emphasis on relative potency. 
  • Discuss monitoring strategies for potential adverse outcomes and signs of aberrant behavior. 
  • Identify approaches for safely de-escalating opioid dosing when appropriate.
