- Accurately identify and assess depressive symptoms in children and adolescents using validated screening tools and age-appropriate clinical criteria.
- Develop and implement an evidence-based management plan for pediatric depression, including initial counseling, pharmacologic options when indicated, and appropriate referral and follow-up strategies.
- Differentiate autoimmune encephalitis from common mimicking conditions (e.g., primary psychiatric disorders, viral encephalitis) using clinical clues and course of illness.
- Outline an appropriate initial diagnostic approach, including first-line labs and indications for neuroimaging and EEG.
