Learning Objectives
OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participants should be able to:
- Identify and apply the components of “SPIKES” and how they facilitate breaking bad news or facilitating a difficult conversation.
- Identify and apply the components of “NURSE” as a means to address emotion during patient encounter.
- Develop personalized scripts to navigate common challenging or difficult patient encounters/conversations in the rheumatology clinic.
