OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to: (1) Review the epidemiology, clinical presentation, and diagnostic criteria for carcinoid syndrome, (2) Define and review the pathophysiology of carcinoid heart disease.  Review classic physical exam features suggestive of severe tricuspid regurgitation, (3) Describe and review current treatment modalities for carcinoid syndrome and any specific treatment options available for carcinoid heart disease.
