OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to: (1) Explain what Lifestyle Medicine is and its significance in modern healthcare, (2) Explain how Lifestyle Medicine goes beyond simple suggestions by emphasizing the provider's role in prescribing specific lifestyle changes tailored to individual patients, (3) Discuss the science behind habit formation and how it can be leveraged to initiate and sustain positive lifestyle changes, (4) Discuss the importance of lifestyle medicine not only in the lives of patients but also in the lives of healthcare providers, (5) Highlight the multidisciplinary approach of Lifestyle Medicine, emphasizing the collaboration between healthcare professionals, including physicians, dietitians, exercise specialists, and mental health practitioners, (6) Explain board certification in Lifestyle Medicine, and (7) Encourage other providers to embrace Lifestyle Medicine principles in their personal and professional lives for a healthier and more fulfilling future for both themselves and their patients.
