OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:  (1) Present and discuss incidence and prevalence of obesity, (2). Review modern bariatric surgery procedures, change in anatomy and physiology, (3). Review AOM, specifically GLP-1 agonist, (4). Criteria for patient selection for bariatric surgery and treatment with Anti-obesity medication (AOM), (5). Role of bariatric surgery in improvement in fertility and pregnancy outcomes, (6). Discuss the interdisciplinary approach to patient care involving collaboration between OBGYNs and general surgeons in preoperative evaluation, perioperative management, and post-operative follow-up of obese patients undergoing bariatric surgery, (7). Foster communication and establish referral pathways between OBGYNs and bariatric surgery specialists to ensure comprehensive care for obese patients throughout their reproductive journey, promoting shared decision-making and individualized treatment plans.
