OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
1.  Review the anatomy and physiology of the external auditory canal and auricle and understand pathologic conditions of the external ear including congenital, infections, and neoplastic.
2.  Explain proper evaluation of patients with external ear disorders including history, physical exam, laboratory and radiologic testing.
3.  Discuss and understand treatment for benign and malignant disorders of the external ear and auditory canal.
