OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to: (1) Define pulmonary hypertension and describe its underlying pathophysiology and classify pulmonology hypertension according to the World Health Organization (WHO) groups. (2) Recognize the clinical features and risk factors associated with pulmonary hypertension and outline the diagnostic approach, including key history, physical exam findings, imaging, and hemodynamic testing. (3) Discuss evidence-based management strategies for each major PH classification, including pharmacologic therapies, lifestyle interventions, and advanced interventions and identify emerging therapies and ongoing challenges in the care of pulmonary hypertension patients.
