OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
1. Apply ethical principles of beneficence and non-maleficence when conducting trauma peer review to ensure patient safety and quality care.
2. Implement structured, systematic approaches for evaluating trauma cases during peer review to identify opportunities for performance improvement (PI) and quality improvement (QI).
3. Recognize and address variability in peer review rigor by adopting best practices that promote accountability and consistency across multidisciplinary teams.
4. Integrate evidence-based standards and institutional guidelines into trauma peer review processes to enhance clinical decision-making and patient outcomes.
5. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by using peer review findings to drive actionable changes in trauma care delivery.
