Nursing Grand Rounds is an ongoing series of various topics essential to nursing and patient care intended to improve outcomes and satisfaction.

Target Audience
Temple region nursing at Baylor Scott and White entities.
Learning Objectives
1. Define workplace violence (WPV) within the healthcare setting and understand its relevance to nursing practice.
2. Identify key regulations and legislative requirements that guide the development and implementation of WPV policies.
3. Describe the current prevalence and impact of WPV on healthcare workers, patient outcomes, and organizational performance.
4. Discuss evidence‑based strategies and organizational approaches for preventing and mitigating WPV in clinical environments.
5. Recognize clinical and behavioral risk factors that may indicate a patient is at elevated risk for exhibiting violent behaviors.
6. Outline the systems, resources, and interventions in place at BSW to prevent, respond to, and address WPV incidents.
