Integrate updates to NCCN, ASCO or other guidelines for cancer patients into professional practice. Physicians have many options when treating patients diagnosed with cancer. Standard of care is to follow the NCCN guidelines for cancer and to stay up to date with changes in treatment modalities.

OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to: 

  1. Identify a multidisciplinary approach to treatment of the cancer patient and enhance learning through active participation and discussion of cancer prevention, early detection, diagnosis, stage of disease, treatment guidelines and prognostic factors, treatment, and follow-up care.
  2. Recognize and implement standardized evidence-based approach to cancer with regards to diagnosis, staging, treatment and follow-up.
  3. Discuss treatment options dependent upon cancer staging and patient performance status
  4. Formulate an effective treatment plan including identification of contraindications for specific regimens of care.
