Because PM&R is such a broad field with many topics of interest, physicians are unable to keep current with diagnostic modalities and treatment recommendations when evaluating and diagnostic a clinically diverse patient population. Physicians are unable to keep up with the most current evidence-based treatments and therapies from all the many disciplines related to our field.
OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to: (1) Review evidence on PICS in children and strategies for affecting culture change to facilitate early rehabilitation in the PICU, (2) Explain that there are disparities in health care for black patients, (3) Examine the efficacy and safety of intramuscular botulinum toxin A (BoNT-A), (4) Reduce spasticity and improve comfort and ease of care in nonambulant children with cerebral palsy (CP).
