1. Discuss the physiologic changes that occur with aging and their effect on injury in older adult patients and their response to trauma.
2. Identify mechanisms of injury frequently encountered in older trauma patients.
3. Discuss the initial management and subsequent treatment priorities of older adult trauma patients.
4. Discuss unique types of trauma and their effects on older trauma patients.
5. Discuss elder maltreatment and strategies to help manage these patients.
