Medicine Grand Rounds is designed to review existing cases and apply the most current evidence-based knowledge and guidelines to establish treatment plans for improved patient outcomes.

The purpose of the Internal Medicine Grand Rounds series is to provide the Internal Medicine physician audience with lectures to allow physicians to improve techniques involved in the diagnosis and management of disease often seen by Internal Medicine Physicians.

OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to: (1) Describe how compassionate patient care extends far beyond the immediate patient provider interaction, (2) Discuss the impact of connecting with patients and caregivers, enhancing and engendering trust in the patient provider relationship, (3) Discuss the potential impact of compassionate care on both the patient and provider’s resilience and well-being.
