OBJECTIVES:   Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

•Define the risk factors in trauma patients for complications and how to incorporate these risks in decision making

•Identify best practice/strategies for the care of injured patients through the discussion of mortality and morbidity cases to ensure optimal patient outcomes

•Discuss guidelines, ways to prevent injuries from happening, trauma cases and ways to improve the trauma program

•Review proficiency in the multidisciplinary approach to complex trauma patients
