OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to: 
(1) Recognize findings to differentiate near occlusion from complete occlusion.
(2) Identify characteristics of uncommon and rare pathology such as non-atheromatous disease, trauma and carotid body tumor.
(3) Discuss difficult carotid cases.
