2021 10th Management of the Complex Hospitalized Patient
Concept
The Management of the Complex Hospitalized Patient activity is designed to provide physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners with information and skills to improve their care of hospitalized patients. Topics presented will focus on special populations, such as geriatrics, and medical problems that span a spectrum of sub-specialties, such as end of life care, prognostication and wound care. Ina addition it will examine growing trends such as accountable care organizations and information technologoy systems and what that means for our patient population and care. The activity will address upcoming regulatory changes and review existing definitions. Optional modules from the American Board of Internal Medicine Maintenance of Certification will be available at an additional fee.
The activity has been designed to reflect the changing epidemiology of our hospitalized patients, from age to obesity. It will feature an interactive, computerized audience response system which will be employed to facilitate audience participation and teach-back techniques.
