OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:  (1) assess the efficacy of acupuncture when compared to sham intervention, no treatment, usual care, or other pharmacological and nonpharmacological interventions on pain, function, quality of life, and adverse events in people with chronic nonspecific LBP, (2) assess the quality of online consumer health information surrounding CAM treatments for LBP, and (3) discuss such resources with their patients and guide them in identifying high-quality sources of publically-available information.
