OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
1. Increase the early diagnosis of aortic stenosis (AS) by improving the recognition of the clinical and echocardiographic signs of disease.
2. Decrease adverse clinical outcomes in adults with AS by optimizing the timing of aortic valve replacement (AVR).
3. Improve preventive therapy and monitoring of disease progression by understanding and comparing clinical outcomes across the various stages of aortic valve disease.
4. Discuss indications, timing, and selection for surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR) versus transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI).
