OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

1. Describe key features of physician burnout syndrome.

2. Explain professional and personal factors which contribute to physician stress and burnout.

3. Identify how the Covid-19 pandemic placed physicians at greater risk of burnout.

4. Discuss strategies of self-care and burnout prevention.

5. Discuss strategies health care organizations can implement to support physician well-being.
