OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:  : (1) Analyze the importance of timely diagnosis and treatment of late acute T cell-mediated rejection. (2) Review central role of liver pathology in the diagnosis and management of rejection and the need for close collaboration between clinician and pathologist. (3) Explain what is known about acute and chronic antibody-mediated rejection post-liver transplant.
