OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

  1. Describe the pathophysiology of cardiac amyloidosis and difference between AL and ATTR (including testing and treatment).  
  2. Review the common abnormal echocardiogram findings seen in patients with cardiac amyloidosis. 
  3. Define how PYP imaging can be used as a non-invasive method to distinguish AL from TTR cardiac amyloidosis.
