OBJECTIVES:  As a result of this activity, the participant should be able to: 
1) Discuss medications that could interfere with electroconvulsive therapy and how to manage these interactions. 2) Describe the unique medications and processes involved in the induction and paralysis of electroconvulsive therapy. 3) Describe common physiologic responses and adverse effects of electroconvulsive therapy.

OBJECTIVES:  As a result of this activity, the participant should be able to:
1) Review the Classifications of Hemorrhage. 2) Identify Risk Factors for Postpartum Hemorrhage. 3) List the Primary Sources of Postpartum Hemorrhage. 4) Review the Drugs Available to Manage Hemorrhage.

MEREDITH HOPSON, M4 – TTU COVENANT - “Glucagon-like Peptide 1 (GLP-1) Agonists: Risk of Aspiration and Current Guidelines”
OBJECTIVES:  As a result of this activity, the participant should be able to:
1) Describe commonly prescribed GLP-1 agonists, their pharmacokinetics, mechanism of action, and general indications. 2) Review briefly recent literature regarding GLP-1 agonists and the reported aspiration risk. 3) Discuss current ASA recommendations while also recognizing the gaps in evidence.

CASEY RISINGER, M4 – USD - “Patient Safety in the Non-Operating Room Anesthesia (NORA)
OBJECTIVES: As a result of this activity, the participant should be able to:
1) Describe the unique challenges and patient safety concerns associated with non-operating room anesthesia. 2) Analyze the most common causes of adverse patient outcomes in non-operating room anesthesia as reported by closed claims data. 3) Recognize the critical importance of adequate patient monitoring during non-operating room anesthesia.
