MUHAMMAD AISHAT, M4 – UNTHSC TCOM - “Myasthenia Gravis: Do You Use Neuromuscular Blockers?”
OBJECTIVES:  As a result of this activity, the participant should be able to: 
1) Describe the pharmacological treatment modalities for myasthenia gravis and how they interact with anesthetic management.
2) Identify adverse effects that may arise secondary to neuromuscular blockade in patients with myasthenia gravis.  3) Explain the optimal approach for management with consideration of surgical and anesthetic goals.

MARK AMBERT, M4 – USF MORSANI - “Post Operative Management of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA): Should Capnography and Positive Airway Pressure Be the Gold Standard?”
OBJECTIVES:  As a result of this activity, the participant should be able to: 
1) Review the importance of OSA post-operatively. 
2) Discuss the benefits of post-operative capnography in OSA patients. 3) Discuss the benefits of positive airway pressure in OSA patients.

DAKOTA ENDSLEY, M4 - TCU - “Massive Transfusion Protocol: Is There a Role for Whole Blood”
OBJECTIVES:  As a result of this activity, the participant should be able to:
1) Describe the evolution of massive transfusion protocols over time.
2) Review the arguments for and against using whole blood in massive transfusion protocol.  3) Analyze current literature about the use of whole blood and summarize current consensus.

JAMES RISINGER, M4 – TAMU T - “Postoperative Nausea and Vomiting (PONV)”
OBJECTIVES:  As a result of this activity, the participant should be able to:
1) Discuss/Describe PONV risk factors and pathophysiology. 
2) Explain assessment criteria for PONV. 3) Review recent management guidelines for PONV.

PHILO WATERS, M4 - OSU - “Accidental Awareness During General Anesthesia (AAGA)
OBJECTIVES: As a result of this activity, the participant should be able to: 
1) Define the phenomenon of AAGA, including its definition, incidence and risk factors.
2) Discuss the significant emotional and psychological effects that AAGA can have on patients. 3) Identify the preventative measures that anesthesiologists can employ to reduce the risk of AAGA.
