“The Use of Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) During Cardiac Arrest”
OBJECTIVES: As a result of this activity, the participant should be able to:
1) Explain the benefits of POCUS in differentiating reversible causes of cardiac arrest. 2) Analyze shockable versus non-shockable rhythms during cardiac arrest. 3) Describe the limitations of using POCUS during a cardiac arrest.

“Perioperative Methadone Vs. Shorter-Acting Opioids”
OBJECTIVES: As a result of this activity, the participant should be able to:
1) Discuss/describe the unique pharmacokinetics & pharmacodynamics of methadone. 2) List the potential, evidence-based benefits of intraoperative methadone Vs. shorter-acting opioids. 3) Identify the suggested doses of intraoperative methadone for “same-day discharge”, “next-day discharge”, and “inpatient surgery” patients.

“EFFECT OF EPIDURAL DEXMEDETOMIDING COMBINED WITH ROPIVACAINE IN LABOR ANALGESIA”
OBJECTIVES: As a result of this activity, the participant should be able to:
1) Discuss the possible role of dexmedetomidine in labor analgesia. 2) Identify the mechanism of action of dexmedetomidine and similar drugs. 3) Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the study, and what further research on the topic needs to be done.
