OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to: (1) Identify the barriers to medical treatment in this patient and list the common social determinants that lead to healthcare disparities, (2) Describe some possible interventions to bridge healthcare gaps in this patient population, (3) Review the screening guidelines for LTBI, (4) Discuss the work up, diagnosis, and treatment of latent and active pulmonary tuberculosis.
