OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to recognize, describe and/or further explore - (1)  A neuroscience of ethics theory that in the moral life, emotions often trump logic, (2) The moral failure and practical impact of criminalization of both medical errors and ethical disagreements, (3) The overlap between philosophical, religious, and constitutional principles associated with abortion and EOL care, (4) How criminalizing medical errors or ethical disagreements is bad for patients, the healing professions, and society in general, (5) Specific challenges faced by physicians related to the recent criminalization of abortion care.
