2023 Central Texas Cardiogenic Shock Conference - Bridge to Longitudinal Well-Being
The Inaugural Central Texas Cardiogenic Shock Conference is dedicated to the science and interdisciplinary clinical care of cardiogenic shock. The meeting will bring together all the teams involved in cardiogenic shock management, including profiling and staging, temporary mechanical circulatory support and transitions associated with longitudinal well-being. A wide range of topics will be covered—from innovative treatment developments to clinical updates—with strategies for implementation in current clinical practice. The program will provide both educational and networking opportunities focused on managing complications, research and care collaboration, and a better understanding of short and long-term patient care and follow-up.
Target Audience
- Physicians - $120
- Advanced Practice Providers (APP) - $85
- Residents - $85
- Other - $85
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
- Recognize cardiogenic shock as a complex heterogeneous disease entity associated with high mortality.
- Describe different classification schemes in cardiogenic shock impacting longitudinal transitions.
- Review the available evidence related to the value of early vs delayed hemodynamic monitoring.
- Overview the impact of high inotropic and vasoactive medications and temporary mechanical support for cardiogenic shock.
- Describe differences in clinical, hemodynamic and imaging in addition to disease trajectory in AMI vs HF Cardiogenic Shock.
- Discuss post cardiotomy shock, risk factors, early treatment and transitions.
- Review ethical and palliative care considerations with an emphasis on personalization of care and patient reported outcomes.
- Propose future perspectives on remission, recovery and heart replacement for patients with Cardiogenic Shock
