This activity is designed to provide the primary care provider with practical clinical information on the recognition and evaluation of specific pediatric subspecialty disorders seen frequently in primary care office settings.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, the attendee should be able to:
- Assess acute abdomen and determine best referral option
- Identify optimal imaging tests for pediatric abdominal conditions
- Review typical presentation and diagnostic criteria of Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE)
- Evaluate data available on current treatment options for Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE)
- Assess limitations to the treatments studied for Eosinophilic Esophagitis
- Discuss principles of cardiovascular clearance for sports participation and rationale of the Preparticipation Sports Physical
- Review awareness knowledge of defects associated with sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) and sudden cardiac death (SCD).
- Discuss primary care providers focused questions on how to best screen for life threatening conditions, regardless of athletic status
- Evaluate patients with special health care needs in preparation for sports participation
- Identify resources available for children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN) and Preparticipation Sports Physical (PPE)
- Discuss knowledge of specific differences and considerations in clearance for children with down syndrome, spinal abnormalities, seizures, diabetes, single organs, mononucleosis, Marfans/EDS
- Recognize when to refer for further evaluation prior to clearance for sports/physical activity participation

Cancellation and Refund Policy
Refunds (less $50 administrative fee) will be provided to registrants who cancel their registration two weeks prior to the course if cancellation by registrant becomes necessary. Refunds will be processed in the same form of payment as registration was received.

Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH) reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course due to unforeseen circumstances. In the unlikely event that BSWH must cancel or postpone this course, the registration fee will be fully refunded.
