OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:  (1) Describe how the US transplant system compares to other systems internationally in terms of donors and transplants per million population. (2) Review current trends in organ utilization and non-utilization and how changing donor quality impacts these trends. (3) Discuss current trends in our nation’s organ transplant waiting lists and how we are doing at meeting those needs.
