OBJECTIVES:  Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

  1. Enhance Awareness:  Describe the prevalence and impact of perinatal mental health disorders (e.g., postpartum depression, anxiety) on both mothers and infants, including risk factors and signs for early identification.
  2. Collaborative Care: Identify how to effectively screen for perinatal mental health issues and collaborate with mental health professionals to create comprehensive care plans for their patients.
  3. Supportive Interventions: Review strategies for OBGYN doctors to support their patients’ mental well-being during the perinatal period, including evidence-based interventions and referrals to appropriate mental health resources.
