OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
1. Describe how insomnia becomes and remains an issue (3 P model, Process C / Process S).
2. Outline evidence based non-pharmacological and pharmacological therapies for sleep disorders.
3. Compare and contrast the hypnotic medications (i.e. brand and generic names, mechanism of actions, dosing, adverse effects, and place in therapy).
