OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to: (1) List two opportunistic infections causing pulmonary syndromes in patients with HIV/AIDS, (2) Describe the diagnostic approach to central nervous system infection in patients with HIV/AIDS, (3) List two prophylactic treatment regimens to prevent opportunistic infections in patients with HIV/AIDS.
