OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to: 

1. Identify the difference between core medical ethical principles and legal realities faced in delivery of end-of-life care, in the State of Texas.
2. Review some of the recent legislative changes in the State of Texas that impact EOL care, and differentiation between withdrawal of life sustaining therapies, and code status legal realities.
3. Identify the continuum of moral angst, and the impact it has on the healthcare team, at large.
