OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:  (1) Identify the characteristics of acute decompensated heart failure, 2) Discuss Guidelines for initial and repeat echocardiographic imaging in Heart Failure, 3) Indications for lifestyle and dietary modifications of fluid restriction and sodium restriction in heart failure, 4) Describe the prevalence and demographics of heart failure in America, 5) Discuss projections of prevalence and cost of heart failure hospitalizations.
