OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to: (1) Review current trends in health and healthcare and impact on patients, physicians and other healthcare professionals, (2) Discuss how advocacy at a local level can help achieve long term goals for health and healthcare, (3) Review how organized medicine advocates for patients and physicians engage, and how and why individuals should engage in advocacy.
