OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:  (1) Describe and recognize clinical criteria, optimal timing, and multidisciplinary considerations involved in integrating bariatric surgery in transplant recipients. (2) Evaluate the current evidence supporting the use of bariatric surgery to optimize transplant candidacy and improve post-transplant outcomes. (3) Identify potential risks, complications, and other specialized considerations in managing patients with a history of both bariatric and transplant surgery.
