The field of cardiology is broad, complex, and specialized in the management of a wide variety of medical conditions. Due to the complexity of the fields, physicians cannot maintain competence without ongoing education in the field as a whole. Participation in this series will improve the knowledge and competence of the participants both in and out of the areas of specialty.

OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
1. Identify morbidity and mortality issues related to General Cardiology patients
2. Discuss communication amongst peers, the employment of clinical research to advance knowledge and techniques to improve patient outcomes
3. Discuss evidence based therapies, strategies/algorithms and the viability of novel technologies, their implementations and discuss potential solutions to diagnosis and treat the issues
