New medical knowledge and technology are advancing more quickly than most physicians can keep up with and utilize wisely. This series of lectures to allow physicians to improve techniques involved in the diagnosis and management of disease often seen by Internal Medicine physicians.
OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
1. Describe the basics about Parkinson's Disease, identify the symptoms and nuances of the disease and the medications that are given to patients with Parkinson's.
2. Recognize the risk factors that can lead to hospital complications for patients with Parkinson's disease, including motor symptom deterioration and increased fall risk and apply evidence-based strategies to mitigate these risks.
3. Discuss the best care practices for patients with Parkinson's disease, including medication reconciliation and interdisciplinary consultations, to improve their outcomes.
