OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to: (1) Review the long-term functional outcomes of patients with disorders of consciousness (DOC) due
to traumatic brain injury (TBI) (Hammond et al., 2018), (2) Identify patterns of functional recovery in patients 1-10 years post-TBI (Hammond et al., 2018), (3) Critically analyze strengths and limitations of this study (Hammond et al., 2018), (4) Review current and potential applications of artificial intelligence in the field of TBI (Orenuga et al., 2025), (5) Describe challenges that may be encountered when utilizing artificial intelligence in the field of TBI (Orenuga et al., 2025).
