OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to: (1) Define the core dimensions of burnout (emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and reduced sense of personal accomplishment) and factors contributing to burnout from a system, individual, and patient care standpoint (2) Discuss the ability to experience hardship and maintain a health response, and identify coping resources (3) Identify the dimensions of self compassion and its impact on adaptive leadership.
