OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

1. Discuss evidence-based inpatient management strategies for acute pancreatitis, including fluid resuscitation, nutrition, pain control and monitoring.

2. Review criteria for risk stratification and indications for escalation to ICU or advanced interventions.

3. Evaluate common complications of acute pancreatitis during hospitalization and outline strategies for early detection and management.
