OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
1. Describe techniques in history taking, physical examination, and imaging to guide neck dissection planning and execution.
2. Explain indications for location and extent of neck dissection for different tumor sites and pathologies and describe techniques in neck dissection for all relevant anatomic neck levels.
3. Explain anticipated morbidity of neck dissection as well as unanticipated complications from neck dissection.
