OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

     1) Define artificial nutrition & hydration, explain the spectrum of roles & ANH for serious illness to end-of-life care, and recognize the ethical & legal implications involved in ANH

     2)  Discuss the emotional experience of eating and define anorexic & cachexic syndromes

     3)  Identify pharmacological interventions and highlight the provisions of palliative care
