OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to: (1) Identify most common etiology of Opioid Use Disorder, (2) Discuss factors behind rising rates of opioid overdose and limiting factors in establishing diagnosis and starting treatment, (3) Describe benefits of medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) in contrast with other treatments, basic pharmacology of Buprenorphine, and considerations in initiating treatment.
