The field of ophthalmology is broad, complex, and specialized in the management of the wide variety of medical conditions. Due to complexity of the field, ophthalmologists cannot maintain competence without ongoing education in the field. Participation in this series will improve the knowledge and competence of the participants, both in and out of the areas of specialty. Translating research into clinical practice is a challenge faced by physicians. The pace at which research is moving makes it difficult for physicians to stay abreast of new research findings and incorporate this into clinical practice. Ophthalmology and Optometry are constantly evolving fields in which new research is published on a daily/weekly basis.
